THE SUSTAINABLE WORLD SOURCEBOOK
The Essential Guidebook for the Engaged Citizen
Recommended for use with the Symposium to enhance participant engagement. The SourceBook can either be included in the entry price or sold at the end of the Symposium.
The SourceBook provides a sweeping overview of the major global issues we face, realistic solutions, and actions that we can all take to make a meaningful contribution. The book is concise and in full color throughout, with a well-designed user-friendly layout, so that it is a compelling read. The introduction is by the brilliant Paul Hawken, and the book has been endorsed by luminaries like Marianne Williamson, Randy Hayes, Lynne Twist and Kevin Danaher.
The SourceBook is no ordinary document. A year and a half in the making, it is the result of the coordinated work of 13 researchers, 8 writers and 4 editors. We have distilled thousands of pages of information from authoritative sources down to 100 pages of essential information on the critical challenges that humanity faces and lots of "What You Can Do" tips and pointers for specific action steps and personal engagement. The book ends with a robust 16 page resource directory of organizations and documentary videos chosen for their usefulness in learning more and to participate in important campaigns for change. You might call it a one-stop-shop for a sustainable world.
The dedicated book website is www.swsourcebook.org. A 3 minute video intro to the book is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8ibewdbArg.
HOW TO MAKE USE OF THE SOURCEBOOK IN YOUR SYMPOSIUMS
We will front you a box of 35 books for you to get started with. The SourceBook retails for $12, but we are offering it for use in the Symposium for just $8 each. Most commonly, facilitators make an announcement about the SourceBook in the "Getting Into Action" part of the Symposium and have them for sale at the end of the Symposium, usually for $10—a $2 discount off of the retail price, and giving you a $2 "profit" per book sold. Alternatively, you can include the SourceBook in the Symposium, so that everyone receives one, and increase the entry fee to cover the book (and feature the book in your promotional materials).
To order a box, just send us an e-mail with your mailing address to: orders@swcoalition.org. After you have sold the full box, send us a check for books ($280 total).
TESTIMONIALS FROM FACILITATORS
"The SourceBook is so perfectly aligned with the ATD experience and provides a perfect follow up resource for participants. It is my strong hope that it will soon be part and parcel of tuition at all ATD events so that everyone can leave with that help we all need in moving forward in a state of blessed unrest and making a real contribution."
Steven Katz, California

"¡Conseguí una copia de tu manual y es increible! ¿Pues qué te parece si nos mandas una caja con manuales y acá los repartimos a otros facilitadores y personas interesadas en los manuales en Inglés? Así también puedo tratar de conseguir a alguien que le interese ayudar a traducirlos al español."
Fernando Ausin, Mexico
"Congratulations on the SourceBook! It looks great. We have a symposium coming up in late February at the large Unity church in downtown Miami. I'm expecting a big turnout, so I'd like to have at least 50 books on hand."
Charlie Behrens, Florida
