The basic Facilitator Training, usually offered in a two-day format, offers the basic elements of putting on a Symposium so that the participants can immediately go out and bring Symposiums into existence in their communities. The Basic Training is followed by a period of informally learning additional practical information and skills under the guidance of a mentor who is a trained facilitator, or with a team of people in a local community group.
Presenter's Kit
The Pachamama Alliance strongly recommends that anyone who wants to lead Symposiums take the basic Facilitator Training, which grounds participants in the spirit of the Symposium and in the community teamwork that makes Symposiums possible and enjoyable. But, for those people who have an immediate opportunity to present a Symposium that is important, or who simply cannot yet arrange their lives to attend a training, the Presenter's Kit offers the basic information and materials needed to put on a Symposium, in written form. It is strongly recommended that, even after using the Presenter's Kit successfully, you attend a Facilitator Training as soon as possible.
